Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming students from Little Red School House & Elisabeth Irwin High School in Manhattan, NYC, as they traded the Big Apple for the Land of Enchantment to visit Las Cruces Public Schools.
These bright and thoughtful students joined us to explore the importance of equity in public education and engaged in meaningful dialogue about the ongoing work happening in our district.
A huge thank you to LCPS Board President Pam Cort, Superintendent Ignacio Ruiz, and Dr. Roberto Lozano, Chief of Educational Equity and Support Programs, for leading such an inspiring conversation.
And most importantly, thank you to the incredible students and advisors from LREI for making the journey to Las Cruces. Your curiosity, insight, and commitment to equity made today truly special.

A big thank you to the outstanding presenters who shared their expertise—and to MMC for hosting and providing a delicious lunch!
Our school nurses play a vital role in keeping students healthy, safe, and ready to learn. We appreciate all you do and are grateful to count you as essential partners in student success and wellness!
