The Las Cruces Public Schoolsâ Safe Routes to School Program will offer a bicycle education event at Lynn Community Middle School from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 30. The Family Bike Fiesta is free and open to all students in the LCPS district.
According to Ashleigh Curry, LCPS Safe Routes to School Coordinator, the Family Bike Fiesta offers kids an opportunity to learn all about bicycle safety, how to ride without training wheels, and â most importantly â the rules of the road. Minor bike fixes and flat repair will be available on site, along with a bicycle spa to get bikes nice and clean. The event will feature a Bike Rodeo and a Family Bike Ride at 11:30 a.m.
Free kids' helmets will be given away (while supplies last) and kids can either bring their own bike to participate or borrow one on a first come, first served basis. SegĂşn Ashleigh Curry, Coordinadora de Rutas Seguras a la Escuela de LCPS, Family Bike Fiesta ofrece a los niĂąos la oportunidad de aprender todo sobre la seguridad de las bicicletas, cĂłmo andar sin ruedas de entrenamiento y, lo mĂĄs importante, las reglas de la carretera. Se realizarĂĄn arreglos menores de bicicletas y reparaciĂłn de pinchazos en el sitio, junto con un spa para bicicletas para dejar las bicicletas limpias y en buen estado. El evento contarĂĄ con un rodeo de bicicletas y un paseo en bicicleta familiar a las 11:30 a. m.
Se regalarĂĄn cascos para niĂąos gratis (hasta agotar existencias) y los niĂąos pueden traer su propia bicicleta para participar o tomar prestada una por orden de llegada.
